In our last video, we covered how a trading company can independently apply for customs import/export rights.
Today we’ll continue. Many friends think they’re done once they’ve completed the qualifications and received their electronic port card. Not quite — there are two critical online registrations that must be completed before your customs declaration and import/export business is truly operational.
First: Paperless Customs Clearance Agreement Registration
This can be done on either the International Trade Single Window or the Electronic Port platform. Let’s use the most commonly used Electronic Port as our example.
Open the Electronic Port official website and insert your legal representative IC card to log in. Once in the system, find the “Paperless Customs Clearance Agreement” section, select the customs office for your company’s registered location, click “Agree & Confirm,” and the registration is complete.
Key takeaway: one registration, valid nationwide. You only need to sign once with the customs office at your company’s registered location. After that, it’s valid for all ports and checkpoints across the country — no need to register separately at each port.
Second: Customs Tax Payment System Registration
This is primarily for trading companies with import business. Once registered, all customs duties and VAT generated by future import shipments can be paid directly online. You can also print electronic tax receipts yourself — very convenient.
The steps are straightforward:
- Log into the International Trade Single Window, again inserting the legal representative IC card.
- In the top menu bar, find [Tax Processing], select [Tax Payment] from the dropdown, and enter the [Registration Management] interface.
- Before proceeding, we recommend clicking on “Enterprise Information” to verify that your company name and qualification details are all correct. Then click on “Tripartite Agreement Information” to begin signing the agreement.
A key point here: register with the customs district where you primarily import your goods through. The system will auto-populate most of your company’s banking information — you only need to manually enter your bank account number and click confirm.
Wait a moment, refresh the page, and when it shows “Registration Successful,” you’re all done.
One additional note: after successful registration, all personnel holding operator cards at your company can by default use this account to pay taxes. For larger companies that want to restrict tax payment access to designated personnel, simply go to [Business Permission Authorization] and set individual access rights.
Quick summary — easy to remember:
- Paperless clearance registration: one-time registration, valid nationwide.
- Customs tax payment registration: register separately for each relevant customs district.
Both of these operations require the legal representative IC card — make sure you don’t accidentally insert an operator card instead!
If you find the process cumbersome or worry about making mistakes during registration, don’t stress. During the customs clearance process, we’ll guide you one-on-one through every step to get it all done properly.
